Melodi Schäfer

Melodi Schäfer works as a medium for spirit communication in the Karlsruhe area of Germany. Her training is unusually well documented – she makes her certificates available for download on her website. She completed the basic mediumship training „Mein Weg zum Medium" in 2021 with Marion Schäfer-Staudigl and Reinhold Staudigl, followed by two advanced year-long courses with them in 2024 and 2025. In March 2024 she attended a three-day trance seminar with the British medium Paul Brereton in Duisburg. In September 2025 she added a Last Aid course recognised by the German Hospice and Palliative Care Association and the German Society for Palliative Medicine. She describes her own work as training „according to the high quality standard of British Spiritualism"; this does not refer to an award from the Spiritualists' National Union or the Arthur Findlay College. She states three standards for her sittings explicitly. She works without any information in advance – no year of birth, no photographs, no objects – and she gives a money-back undertaking if no spirit contact comes about. On her approach she writes: „Ich arbeite nicht, um zu beeindrucken, sondern um zu verbinden" (I do not work to impress, but to connect). A spirit contact, she says, is not a spectacle but a mindful dialogue held in a protected space. She does not publish prices for private sittings; appointments are arranged through her online shop, by WhatsApp or by email. Alongside private sittings she gives demonstration evenings and mediumship mornings with live spirit communication, workshops and one-to-one mentoring. Her mediumship training in Karlsruhe runs over three years – foundations and first spirit contacts in the first year, inspired writing, spirit art and mediumistic speaking in the second, and trance, grief work, private sittings and public demonstrations in the third. A module costs 220 € (199 € for early bookings), and the whole first year costs 1,320 € if paid in one instalment. There is also a spirit art workshop, a circle for mediumistic speaking in trance, and an intensive hypnosis recording she made herself. One distinctive offering is her mediumistic crime circle, in which real criminal cases are worked on intuitively. She makes clear herself that mediumistic investigative work is not officially recognised in Germany and that she regards this as pioneering work – „kein Ratespiel" (not a guessing game), but something that demands mindfulness and structure.
