Helen van Hooft

Helen van Hooft is a medium, holistic therapist and spiritual tutor based in the Netherlands. For more than 25 years she has supported people through healing, transformation and spiritual development; she spent ten years in palliative and hospice care as lead complementary therapist and founded her own holistic therapy centre. Her mediumistic education comes from the British Spiritualists' National Union: the SNU's official register lists her with the DSNU in Demonstrating and as an OSNU. "If you're grieving someone you've lost, I work as a medium," she writes – connecting the two worlds and bringing reassurance that we survive physical death and that the love shared will always be there. Her mediumistic one-to-one is called a "Connection & Clarity Session" and lasts 45 minutes, in person or online. It is aimed at the bereaved as much as at those curious whether there is life after death. What she promises is a safe, judgement-free space in which grief is neither rushed nor prescribed – the point, she says, is not to "get over" a loss but to transform one's relationship with it. Alongside this she offers mentoring for clarity and direction, programmes for spiritual and intuitive development, retreats, and officiant services such as funeral ceremonies.
