Colleen Vanderzyden

Colleen Vanderzyden is a registered medium of the Lily Dale Assembly, an empowerment coach and the author of „Courageously You: Magical Mind Games to Get Unstuck and Reignite Your Joy". By her own account she has been communicating with spirit for more than 25 years. She describes her way of working as channelling: she senses and feels those in spirit through her own body, sometimes feeling their physical issues or moving and speaking as they did, and sometimes simply „knowing" things — the spirit comes through her, not from her. Working with clients she noticed that what is often needed is less a message than guidance: people look for answers on the other side when the answers are within themselves. From that she developed her second focus as a coach. All sessions last 45 minutes and cost $175. She offers mediumship readings connecting with loved ones who have passed, soul readings on who you are at soul level and how to apply that to your life, and intuitive coaching for specific challenges. Mediumship readings are given in person only, at Lily Dale (13 Cleveland Avenue, with the entrance and waiting area on Buffalo Street); soul readings and coaching can also be held by video on request, which is noted on the booking form. She takes individual appointments only, not couples or groups. Sessions are digitally recorded and e-mailed afterwards, though recordings are not guaranteed. She advises staying open and setting an intention beforehand about who you hope to hear from, while stressing that Spirit decides who comes. She expressly discourages asking for particular proof or testing the medium — that kind of energy blocks the flow. She is also candid that not everything will be accurate: she may misinterpret or receive information incompletely, though unclear evidence often turns out to be correct later.
