Rev. Margaret Ferris

Rev. Margaret Ferris lives year-round at Lily Dale, is a life member of the Lily Dale Assembly and is listed there as a registered medium; she also belongs to the Lily Dale Mediums' League and the Church of the Living Spirit. She was ordained through Fellowships of the Spirit, whose training she completed. Her professional background is in music: she holds a Master of Arts from the University of Rochester specialising in music education. By her own account she had visions of Spirit as a child without having the language to explain what she was seeing and feeling; after a near-death experience and her study of mediumship she found answers to her questions. She names Shirley Calkins Smith as her mentor and friend. Her sittings aim to bring messages from loved ones and pets in spirit. She opens a sitting by explaining how she works, then makes the link and provides a voice for the loved ones in spirit; a short time is left at the end for questions, though she says openly that an answer is not guaranteed. As evidence she gives physical characteristics, personality traits, life challenges and the connection to the sitter. She gives sessions in person at Lily Dale (9 Library Street) and by telephone, at $105 for 30 minutes and $140 for 45 minutes; a recording of the session is included as a gift. For telephone appointments the client calls her at the agreed time. She advises settling in beforehand, clarifying why the reading is being sought, and mentally inviting those in spirit. In the rare case that no connection is made she ends the reading and refunds the fee; readings beyond ten minutes or fully completed are not eligible for a refund.
