Dorothy Young

Dorothy Young is a British medium and healer working for the Spiritualist Association of Great Britain in London. Born in Dorchester, she lives today in Brighton on the south coast. She spent eight years in nursing – as a State Registered Nurse in a large hospital, later as a district nurse and a health visitor supporting families; afterwards she built up a graphic design and printing company with her husband Alan. She sees a kinship between the two callings: as a nurse and as a medium alike one needs empathy together with the ability not to become too emotionally entangled – „being a weepy, soggy mess was no good to anyone". Her gifts – clairvoyance, clairsentience and clairaudience – she developed in a development circle at Brighton Central Spiritualist Church and in the open circle at Brighton National Spiritualist Church. She takes church services and demonstrates her mediumship across the south of England. She has developed her abilities through numerous courses, among them at the Arthur Findlay College; she is CSNU and holds the Certificate of Recognition of the Spiritualists' National Union in speaking and demonstrating. Among the mediums she has taught is Aloisia Muschaweck, who displays her certificate on her website. By her own account she takes every opportunity very seriously to give accurate evidence of survival from those who wish to communicate through love. At the Association she regularly takes open platforms, open circles, demonstrations and workshops – and also gives private sittings there. An open circle under her own name is a fixture of the house programme. Appointments run through the Association in Battersea, where she is listed among the mediums available for private sittings. Sittings there take place face to face, by telephone or via Skype. Fees are given by the Association on request. A detailed interview with her appeared in December 2014 in „Two Worlds" magazine.
